Shawna, Carlos and the boys

|
This was a really fun shoot. I guess I will call it an engagement session, but it was really more a family shoot, with a few portraits of mom and dad on their own. Next up on the blog, their wedding.... |

Shirin and Orest - Banff Springs Hotel

|
A Persian Ukrainian wedding in the Canadian Rockies? Sound like fun? Just a little :)
The whole day was designed and executed by Connie Grace and her team from Elegant Banff Occasions. Thanks for making the day run so smoothly Connie. |
On the aisle of the Ukrainian ceremony. |
Orest shed a tear, actually a lot of really big tears to be more precise. |
These guys were so happy to get to that first kiss. |
The second ceremony of the day was the Persian ceremony. One guest described it as "shorter with better food". |
Some dancing after the ceremony. |
After two ceremonies it was off to portraits. |
Their entrance to the reception. |
This pretty much sums up what the evening was like. |
Persian tradition was to basically tease the groom with the knife for the cake cutting. It also required for Orest to empty his wallet, which his sister (pictured) seemed to enjoy. |

Melissa and Trevor

|
I looked forward to this wedding all winter. A bride fulfilling her childhood dream of getting married 'on the lake" at her family's summer home. Their wedding took place just south of Vernon on Kalamalka Lake. It was a pretty special day and I'm sure no one in attendance would disagree with that. I was treated like a guest all weekend by Melissa and Trevor's family and friends. Thank you for your kindness. |
Sister and mom helping to get Melissa ready. |
Melissa arrived to the ceremony in the ski boat. Her dad going to pick her up. |
Trevor and the Melissa's dad greet at the end of the aisle (dock). |
The new couple arriving at the reception. |
Toast from Melissa's sister. |
Having heard hundreds of speech I don't get wowed much any more, but these guys did a great job. Wow. |
